C-Section

C-section delivery, also known as cesarean delivery, is a surgical procedure in which the baby is delivered through an incision made in the mother’s abdomen and uterus. It might be done in advance or as an urgent birthing intervention. When vaginal birth is unsafe or impractical for the woman or the infant, C-sections are carried out.
We are proud to offer expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies and advanced fetal medicine at our hospital. With a combined surgical experience of successful surgeries, our team can handle even the most complex cases. When medically required, our team of knowledgeable obstetricians at Chella IVF is experienced in delivering C-sections, for the safety and well-being of both mother and child.

Need for C-section

A C-section is done under various conditions, including
  • Stalled Labor: If the cervix is not opening despite contractions, a C-section may be necessary.
  • Risk to Baby’s Health: A C-section may be recommended, if there is a potential risk to the baby’s health, such as an abnormal fetal position, placenta previa, or prolapsed umbilical cord.
  • Mother’s Poor Health: If the mother has a health condition such as heart disease, severe infections, or mechanical health issues like large fibroids obstructing the birth canal, a C-section may be the safest delivery method.
  • Multiple Pregnancies: If the mother is carrying twins or triplets and one of the babies is in an abnormal position, a C-section may be necessary.
  • Previous C-Section Delivery: If the mother has previously undergone a C-section, a repeat C-section may be necessary for subsequent deliveries.

Benefits of C-Sections

  • Reduced risk of birth trauma and injury to the mother and baby.
  • Planned delivery allows for better scheduling and preparation for the birth.
  • Can be life-saving in emergencies.
  • May be recommended in certain medical conditions for the mother or baby.
